The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry has secured its membership in the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF) General Council for the term from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028. The Chamber’s Chief Executive Officer, Atef Al Khaja, was elected to the WCF Executive Committee following a vote by chambers representing over 120 countries.
Bahrain Chamber, represented by its Chairman Sameer Nass, signed seven Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with several Russian chambers of commerce and economic institutions during its participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025.
MP Ahmed Al Saloom, member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber and a member of the Chamber's Executive Office, emphasized the significant role Russia plays in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly with the government’s recent focus on localizing the production of vital medicines. He praised Russia for being among the first countries to send COVID-19 vaccines to various parts of the world, reflecting its advancement in scientific research and pharmaceutical development, as well as its ability to respond swiftly to global health challenges.
Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sameer Nass emphasized the importance of the mutual relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation, and their development towards further cooperation in economic fields that achieve the developmental goals of both friendly countries and ensure a prosperous future for their peoples. While leading the Chamber's delegation participating in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025, which commenced in St. Petersburg, Russia, with notable global attendance exceeding 20,000 participants from 140 countries, he stated that Russia is an important partner for Bahrain and that the trajectory of relations is continuously evolving.
