Joint Committees
The joint committees are established as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and government and official entities, contributing to conveying the views of the private sector, addressing challenges, supporting the development of the business environment, and advancing economic sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Based on Article (36) of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Law promulgated by Legislative Decree No. (48) of 2012, which stipulates:
“The Board of Directors shall form, from among the members of the Chamber and such experts whose assistance it deems necessary, permanent and temporary committees to undertake certain tasks. It may also form joint committees with ministries, government authorities, and institutions to discuss matters of mutual interest.”
Accordingly, during the 31st term of the Board of Directors, the following committees were established:
Joint Committee between the Ministry of Tourism and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The committee serves as a framework for communication on the needs of establishments operating in the tourism sector and related activities, the challenges they face, and the communication of their views and proposals. It also contributes to developing visions and initiatives aimed at advancing the tourism sector, improving its business environment, encouraging investment, and strengthening the private sector’s contribution to its development.

Joint Committee between the Ministry of Labour, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The committee provides a platform for dialogue on policies, legislation, and procedures governing the labour market, and for presenting the views of business owners on relevant issues and challenges. It seeks to develop solutions that support the flexibility and competitiveness of the labour market, align the needs of the private sector with the development of national competencies, and support the requirements of economic growth.

It also examines visions and initiatives aimed at advancing the private healthcare sector, developing its business environment, encouraging investment, and enhancing its contribution to the healthcare services system in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The committee brings together the Chamber and the Labour Fund “Tamkeen” to discuss programmes and initiatives supporting enterprises and the development of national competencies, and to convey the needs and views of the private sector in this regard. It contributes to developing approaches that enhance enterprises’ access to support programmes in line with market requirements, support their growth and sustainability, and strengthen their competitiveness.

It addresses the challenges faced by business owners and contributes to developing visions and initiatives aimed at improving the commercial and investment environment, enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector, and strengthening its role in supporting economic growth.

Functions and Responsibilities of the Joint Committees
The committees are responsible for discussing matters and issues of concern to the commercial and industrial sectors and conveying the views of the private sector to decision-makers in the relevant official authorities.
