Second Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Mohamed Alkooheji, highlighted the importance of strengthening relations with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to foster collaborative growth and ensure shared success for both counterparts.
Second Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed Abduljabbar Al-Kooheji, affirmed that there are promising opportunities to enhance cooperation between Bahrain and China within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. This came during his participation in the session titled “Leveraging Opportunities in New Markets” at the 9th Belt and Road Summit, held in Hong Kong under the theme “Building a Connected, Innovative, and Green Belt and Road.”
Second Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Mohammed Al Kooheji, highlighted the promising opportunities for collaboration between Bahrain and Hong Kong across key sectors, including education, healthcare, technology, and industry. He emphasized that these sectors provide a solid foundation for strengthening economic ties between the two countries. This came during his visit to the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, in the presence of Bahrain Chamber’s board member, Yaqoob Alawadhi.
First Vice-Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Mr.Khalid Najibi met with Board Member of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chairman of its Investment Committee, Mr. Saud bin Ahmed Al-Nahari to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation between Bahrain and Oman.
Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Nass affirmed that Decree-law No. (11) of 2024 which implements the Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax (DMTT) on Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) operating within the Kingdom, will address the challenges of tax base erosion and prevent profit shifting to low-tax jurisdictions, thereby enhancing tax efficiency. He also noted that this application reflects Bahrain's commitment to adhering to international standards in the fight against tax evasion. He clarified that this tax does not apply to Bahraini companies, which enhances their competitiveness and supports their growth and long-term sustainability as key partners in the nation’s development.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in partnership with the Bahrain Chamber, hosted an introductory session on conducting business through the virtual commercial platform "Sijili". The session aimed to inform business owners about the latest system updates aimed at providing further facilitation for the private sector and enhancing its role as a key partner in the national economy.
