First Vice-Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Mr.Khalid Najibi met with Board Member of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chairman of its Investment Committee, Mr. Saud bin Ahmed Al-Nahari to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation between Bahrain and Oman.
Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Nass affirmed that Decree-law No. (11) of 2024 which implements the Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax (DMTT) on Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) operating within the Kingdom, will address the challenges of tax base erosion and prevent profit shifting to low-tax jurisdictions, thereby enhancing tax efficiency. He also noted that this application reflects Bahrain's commitment to adhering to international standards in the fight against tax evasion. He clarified that this tax does not apply to Bahraini companies, which enhances their competitiveness and supports their growth and long-term sustainability as key partners in the nation’s development.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in partnership with the Bahrain Chamber, hosted an introductory session on conducting business through the virtual commercial platform "Sijili". The session aimed to inform business owners about the latest system updates aimed at providing further facilitation for the private sector and enhancing its role as a key partner in the national economy.
In line with its commitment to support the business sector and keep it abreast of updates, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Social Insurance Organization (SIO) organized a workshop on SIO’s new electronic system "Taaminat."
The Bahrain Chamber has successfully concluded the third edition of its "Experience It" program, which provided a two-week on-job training opportunity for 25 students aged between 14 and 18 years old. The program was hosted by 10 participating private sector companies.
The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA), organized an honoring ceremony for the participants in the "Economic Media Enhancement Program."
