Bahrain Chamber and Ministry of Transportation Organize Panel Discussion to Empower Women Entrepreneurs in Land Transport

The Bahrain Chamber, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, organized a panel discussion titled “Enhancing the Role of Women Entrepreneurs in Land Transport” at the Chamber’s headquarters. The event was attended by a number of officials, representatives from the public and private sectors, women entrepreneurs, and stakeholders interested in the transport and logistics sector.

The panel was organized as part of the ongoing partnership between the two sides and their commitment to supporting the participation of Bahraini women in promising economic sectors, while enhancing their presence in the land transport and logistics sector. This contributes to sustainable economic development and strengthens the competitiveness of the national economy.

The panel saw broad participation from a number of government entities and private sector institutions, including the Supreme Council for Women, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Secretariat General of the Council of Representatives, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, the Ministry of Works, the Ministry of Education, the Information & eGovernment Authority, Labour Fund “Tamkeen,” Customs Affairs and the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior, the Higher Education Council, Derasat, the University of Bahrain, Bahrain Polytechnic, the Institute of Public Administration, as well as the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event also brought together women entrepreneurs and representatives from technology, e-commerce, and logistics companies, reflecting the importance of coordinated efforts to support the participation of Bahraini women in the transport sector and other promising economic sectors.

The panel also featured the participation of H.E. Dr. Hashim Hussein, Head of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Investment and Technology Promotion Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
