Bahrain Chamber: 88% of SME Complaints Resolved by End of June 2026

Mr. Isa Murad, Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Support and Members’ Complaints Department at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, affirmed the Chamber’s continued efforts to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and enhance the business environment through the role carried out by the Department of SME Support and Complaints. The Department successfully resolved 88% of the total complaints it received up to the end of June 2026, reflecting the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening direct communication with business owners and providing practical solutions to the challenges they face.

Murad explained that statistics issued by the Department showed that a total of 62 complaints had been received, of which 55 were resolved. Four complaints remained unresolved for various reasons, while three were found to fall outside the Department’s jurisdiction, and their submitters were directed to the relevant authorities. He noted that these figures reflect the efficiency of the established mechanisms and the prompt response to the needs of business owners.

He added that these results come as part of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s efforts to develop an integrated support system for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), based on its conviction that this sector is one of the key drivers of the national economy, playing a major role in creating jobs, promoting economic growth, and stimulating investment.

He noted that the establishment of the Department of SME Support and Complaints was among the priorities of the Chamber’s 31st Board of Directors’ term. It reflects the Chamber’s commitment to providing an effective institutional channel for receiving complaints and inquiries from business owners and following up on them directly with various government and service entities, thereby contributing to removing obstacles faced by enterprises and improving the business environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Murad pointed out that the 88% resolution rate reflects the strong and ongoing cooperation with government ministries and authorities, as well as the commitment of all parties to addressing issues affecting business owners. At the same time, he affirmed that complaints still under follow-up continue to receive attention until appropriate solutions are reached, while complaints falling outside the Department’s jurisdiction are handled through established procedures by directing their submitters to the relevant authorities.

Murad reaffirmed the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s commitment to continuing to develop its services for SMEs, listening to their needs, and strengthening communication channels with them, in line with its role as a principal representative of the private sector and a key partner in supporting economic development. These efforts contribute to building a more efficient, competitive, and sustainable business environment and further enhance the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as an attractive destination for investment and business.
