On this occasion, the Minister of Education and University Board of Trustees Chairman expressed his pleasure at signing the agreement, affirming the University’s keenness to strengthen its relationship with the BCCI, one of the Kingdom’s most important economic institutions. He highlighted the importance of building bridges to link the University’s applied research with the needs of the economy and labor market development, as well as providing advanced field training for University students in private sector institutions, helping to pave the way for their direct recruitment upon graduation.
For his part, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber expressed his pride in the constructive and fruitful partnership with the University of Bahrain, and extended his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Education and University Board of Trustees Chairman for his strong commitment to signing this agreement. He noted that it marks a major leap forward in the relationship between the University and the Chamber, serving the shared goals both institutions pursue for the benefit of Bahraini students and in support of the Kingdom’s economy and the private sector.
The memorandum aimed to enhance cooperation between the University and the Chamber in policy development and formulation; the exchange of studies, statistics, publications, and proposals that contribute to shaping current and future economic plans; and the strengthening of the legislative and legal framework relevant to economic and commercial affairs. It also sought to align academic research projects and scientific studies with labor market needs.
Areas of cooperation further included conducting and publishing studies and research; organizing conferences, meetings, forums, and economic events aimed at serving the Bahraini community; and providing knowledge resources, references, and scientific research in both print and electronic formats. The memorandum also covered collaboration on integrating human resources into the labor market and creating practical training opportunities through joint cooperation frameworks, in accordance with mechanisms agreed upon by both parties.
Prior to the signing of the MoC, the Minister of Education met with the Chairman and members of the Bahrain Chamber Board, where they exchanged views and ideas and held discussions on the future of education and the private sector and its institutions in the Kingdom.
