Minister of Labour and Chairman of Bahrain Chamber Stress the Importance of Strengthening Partnership to Support the Labor Market and Economic Development
Chairman of the Bahrain chamber, Nabeel Kanoo met Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, H.E. Yousef bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two sides in support of the private sector and Bahrain’s economic development.
Minister Khalaf highlighted the Chamber’s key role as a principal representative of the private sector, commending its efforts to convey the views of business owners and contribute to developing a more competitive business environment. He stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the Ministry and the Chamber to develop the labour market, enhance the capabilities of the national workforce, and support initiatives that promote sustainable employment and respond to economic changes.
The meeting also addressed several areas of mutual interest, including developing vocational training and professional development programmes, strengthening private-sector partnerships in employment, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises to create a flexible and growth-oriented business environment.
Both sides underscored the importance of continued coordination and consultation among relevant stakeholders and of adopting a collaborative approach to achieving shared development objectives, supporting labour market stability and economic growth.
Kanoo expressed his appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Ministry in support of the private sector, improving the business environment and enhancing labour market efficiency. He noted that the Chamber continues to support business owners by communicating their challenges to the relevant authorities and contributing to practical solutions that promote sustainable economic growth.
