Kanoo stated that His Majesty the King’s affirmation that Bahrain’s youth are continuing the journey of those who came before them in serving the nation carries profound national significance. It highlights that the Kingdom’s development journey is built on the succession of generations and the accumulation of achievements, and that today’s youth bear a significant responsibility to build upon what has been accomplished and take it forward toward broader horizons of development and innovation.
He added that His Majesty’s expression of confidence in Bahrain’s future, based on what he witnessed of the youth’s work, ideas, and aspirations, represents a valued royal testament to the capabilities of Bahraini youth. It also reinforces the responsibility of all national institutions to provide an environment that enables them to transform these capabilities and aspirations into tangible achievements that contribute to the Kingdom’s progress and prosperity.
Kanoo praised the support extended to youth empowerment efforts by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as the efforts led by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, in developing youth capabilities and expanding their opportunities to participate in the national development journey.
Kanoo explained that this vision is particularly significant from the private sector’s perspective, as the economy of the future will increasingly depend on knowledge, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the ability to adapt to rapid technological transformations. This makes investing in youth and preparing them to participate in these fields an economic necessity directly linked to Bahrain’s competitiveness and sustainable growth.
He noted that His Majesty the King’s interest in youth projects, including the “Little Entrepreneur” initiatives, carries an important message about the value of instilling a culture of initiative, work, and productivity from an early age. He stressed that developing a generation of entrepreneurs and innovative business owners represents an important driver for diversifying the national economy and broadening the private sector base.
Kanoo said that the Bahrain Chamber, in line with its responsibility toward the business community, believes that economically empowering youth goes beyond providing employment opportunities. It also includes creating opportunities for them to establish businesses, lead enterprises, participate in promising sectors, and build a deeper partnership between youth and the private sector.
He affirmed that His Majesty the King’s words that “youth are the nation’s most valuable wealth and the foundation of its progress and prosperity” encapsulate the essence of genuine investment in Bahrain’s future. He emphasized that the responsibility of the business community is to help translate this vision into practical opportunities and pathways that enable Bahraini youth to become active partners in driving growth and leading the economy of the future.
