Bahrain Chamber launches “The Commercial Diplomacy Forum”

In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Bahrain Chamber launched on Tuesday 26h March 2024, the first edition of “The Commercial Diplomacy Forum,” which witnessed the participation of 30 diplomats, including ambassadors from the Kingdom of Bahrain and senior diplomats.

 

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber Sameer Nass, emphasized the important role played by ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions abroad in promoting Bahrain, attracting foreign direct investments, and providing services and facilities to investors. He expressed pride in Bahraini diplomacy’s success in enhancing the kingdom's position on the international and regional stages, attributed to the visions and guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the relentless support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

 

Nass underscored the significance of joint collaboration between the Chamber and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in favor of the national economy, trade stimulation, and the enhancement of bilateral and multilateral economic relations, as well as the growth of trade volume between Bahrain and various countries worldwide, which has reached approximately 10.5 billion dinars in non-oil sectors.

 

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, praised the strong partnership between the public and private sectors in promoting economic and commercial diplomacy and its pivotal role in supporting comprehensive development led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, , and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

 

He affirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ keenness to enhance cooperation and partnership with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry in promoting investment and tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain, contributing to the development of national exports, and enhancing the role of economic and commercial diplomacy in promoting economic growth, prosperity, and achieving sustainable development goals, which is considered one of the top priorities of foreign policy, in line with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, the government's action program, and the economic recovery plan.

During the forum, a presentation titled "Commercial Diplomacy" was showcased, focusing on the Bahrain Chamber's philosophy of commercial diplomacy and its crucial relationship with international organizations. The presentation emphasized the pivotal role of commercial diplomacy in driving economic growth, attracting investments, and safeguarding and empowering Bahraini businesses both domestically and globally.
