Bahrain Chamber Unveils New Initiatives to Deepen Business Engagement and Economic Partnerships

The Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber, during its third meeting of the 31st term, chaired by Nabeel Kanoo and held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, affirmed its continued implementation of a number of initiatives and decisions aimed at strengthening the Chamber’s role in representing the private sector, enhancing communication with its members, and expanding its economic and institutional partnerships. These efforts seek to strengthen the competitiveness of the business environment and keep pace with the aspirations of the business community in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Board reviewed the latest developments regarding the restructuring of the sectoral committees, emphasizing their importance as one of the key pillars of the Chamber’s work. The committees play a vital role in conveying the views and proposals of various economic sectors, identifying the challenges they face, and contributing to the development of initiatives and solutions that support the growth and competitiveness of the private sector.

They also approved the restructuring of the Bahraini-Jordanian Joint Business Council and opened membership to Board members and Chamber members, including business owners and traders interested in the Jordanian market, to join the Bahraini side. This initiative aims to broaden the prospects for trade and investment cooperation and create new partnership opportunities between the business communities of the two brotherly countries.

The Board also reviewed the Chamber’s programme of sectoral meetings and field visits to be implemented during the coming period, as part of its approach to strengthening direct engagement with various economic sectors and gaining a deeper understanding of their needs and challenges. This will contribute to developing the Chamber’s initiatives and services and enhancing its ability to represent and advocate for the interests of the private sector.

The Board emphasized the importance of leveraging the Chamber’s international engagements to promote the investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom of Bahrain and highlight the competitive advantages of the national business environment, while also informing Chamber members about economic opportunities in brotherly and friendly countries. These efforts will help open new avenues for economic and trade cooperation and attract further investment to the Kingdom.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Board affirmed that the coming period will witness the continued implementation of initiatives aimed at strengthening engagement with various economic sectors, expanding partnerships with relevant entities, and supporting the interests of Chamber members, further consolidating the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s role as the representative of the private sector and a key partner in Bahrain’s economic development journey.
