Bahrain Chamber and Indian Ambassador Explore Opportunities to Expand Economic Partnership

Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Nabeel Kanoo, received Ambassador of the Republic of India to Bahrain, Vinod Kurian Jacob. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen economic, trade, and investment relations between the two friendly countries and explored opportunities to expand areas of bilateral cooperation.

Kanoo emphasized the importance of continuing to develop the economic partnership between Bahrain and India, in light of the longstanding and distinguished relations between the two countries. He highlighted the vital role of the private sector in supporting trade and investment flows and strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

The two sides also highlighted the strength of trade relations between the two countries, with India ranking as Bahrain’s sixth-largest export market and seventh-largest import market in 2025. Bahraini exports to India recorded 3% growth between 2024 and 2025, reflecting the promising potential for further developing trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides also explored cooperation opportunities in several priority sectors, including technology, healthcare, agriculture, and food security. They emphasized the importance of encouraging mutual investments and building strategic partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic growth and open new avenues for cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.
