Chairman of the Industry and Energy Committee at the Bahrain Chamber, Fareed Bader stated that companies and institutions would significantly benefit from the new decision related to the exemption of industrial inputs. He explained that this decision comes with new regulations aimed at enhancing local production. He described the decision as a qualitative and strategic step toward supporting the national industrial sector and enhancing its competitiveness.
Director of the Industrial Development Department at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Khalid Al-Qasimi, emphasized that holding this seminar at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Industry and Energy Committee, reflects the ministry's commitment to enhancing the principle of partnership with the private sector and reinforcing values of transparency and institutional integration. The seminar serves as an important platform for constructive dialogue and understanding the various dimensions of the decision and its implementation mechanisms.
He noted that the new decision is expected to have a positive impact on the industry in Bahrain by supporting the expansion of local inputs and increasing the national content in products. Al-Qasimi also highlighted that the government decision exempts certain factories from customs duties to bolster local industries and emphasizes the importance of small factories in Bahrain, underscoring the need to support them.
