Bahrain Chamber launches an unprecedented initiative, and signs 13 MoUs with universities

In a bid to enhance partnership between higher education institutions and the business sectors, and with the aim of aligning education outcomes to market needs, the Bahrain Chamber signed today (Tuesday 31st January 2023) a total of 13 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Bahrain-based universities and colleges.

The signing ceremony, which was held at the Chamber’s premises,  was attended by the Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council (HEC), Deputy of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, in the presence of the representatives of the participating higher education institutions, board members of the Bahrain Chamber, and officials

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber expressed pride on the role of the Higher Education Council (HEC) in advancing the education process in Bahrain and enhancing the quality of higher education.  He commended the the keenness of the participating universities and colleges on joining forces with the private sector to advance scientific market research and achieve the mutual goals, and touched upon the importance of capitalizing on the education capabilities to foster educational tourism.

For her part Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa hailed the Bahrain Chamber’s pioneering initiative, which enhances cooperation between higher education institutions and the private sector, and serves aligning visions and consolidating efforts.  She affirmed the pivotal importance of the education dossier and expressed pride on the keenness of universities and colleges to cooperate and coordinate with the private sector to achieve the mutual goals.  She also expressed confidence in the outcomes of this initiative and asserted the support of the HEC.

It is worth noting that on behalf of the Bahrain Chamber, the MoUs were signed by its Chief Executive Officer Dr Abdulla Al Sada, while representatives of the following universities signed:  Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), Applied Science University, University of Technology Bahrain, Ahlia University, British University of Bahrain, University College of Bahrain, Gulf University, American University of Bahrain, Vatel Bahrain, Arab Open University, Kingdom University, Royal University for Women, and Euro University.
