He highlighted the importance of developing practical solutions that enhance business competitiveness, encourage investment, and create employment opportunities.
He noted that the vision and mission place merchants and business owners at the heart of the Chamber’s priorities, guiding its efforts to represent their interests, communicate their views to relevant authorities, and translate their needs into initiatives that improve Bahrain’s commercial and investment environment.
Kanoo added that the Chamber aims to strengthen private sector participation in economic policymaking by presenting proposals informed by market realities and business expertise. He also stressed the importance of maintaining direct engagement with members, understanding their priorities, addressing business challenges, and expanding access to the Chamber’s programs and services.
During the meeting, the Board discussed a proposal to establish a platform connecting Chamber members with companies abroad to expand commercial opportunities. It directed that the proposal undergoes practical and legal assessment, including exploring cooperation with embassies and chambers of commerce, reviewing similar initiatives, and establishing mechanisms to ensure the reliability and verification of information before presenting the findings to the Board.
The Board also explored ways to increase member participation in the Chamber’s programs and events by reviewing scheduling arrangements and improving awareness of available activities, encouraging greater networking and knowledge-sharing within the business community.
Additionally, the Board reviewed the outcomes of previous field visits and discussed plans to visit other markets, industrial facilities, and craft establishments. These visits aim to identify business needs and challenges firsthand and incorporate members’ feedback into the Chamber’s priorities and service development.
Kanoo concluded by stressing that achieving the Chamber’s vision requires translating its commitments into tangible results through effective responses to members’ concerns, greater private sector involvement in decision-making, and initiatives that support sustainable business growth and Bahrain’s economic objectives.
