The Global Industrial Relations Network (GIRN) Meeting

We are pleased to inform you that, following an invitation from the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), and in cooperation with the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), the Global Industrial Relations Network (GIRN) meeting will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from 2 to 4 December 2026.

The Global Industrial Relations Network (GIRN) is an international initiative that brings together senior professionals and experts in industrial relations and human resources. The network provides an exclusive platform for exchanging experiences and discussing key employment, industrial relations and workplace issues at the international level. Established in 2008, GIRN holds meetings twice a year, hosted by its members on a rotating basis.

The network brings together senior representatives from leading multinational companies, including:
Toyota, Samsung, IKEA, Disney, Rio Tinto, Coca-Cola, Shell, McDonald’s, Walmart and H&M, reflecting the high international calibre of companies participating in the network.

The meeting also provides an important opportunity for Gulf companies to exchange knowledge and experiences with global corporations and gain insights into international best practices and emerging trends in key areas, including the future of work, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and evolving workplace and industrial relations practices.

Such participation highlights the importance of strengthening engagement between Gulf businesses and their international counterparts, while benefiting from global experiences and best practices to support the development of modern workplace practices and enhance the business sector’s ability to adapt to global transformations.
