Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Nabeel Kanoo received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Oman Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen economic and trade relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman and explored investment opportunities available across a number of sectors of mutual interest.
As part of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s commitment to supporting merchants and strengthening the role of traditional markets in economic development, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Nabeel Kanoo, received a number of Manama Souq merchants, including Riyad Taher Al Mahroos, Hassan Janahi, Jameel Al Sayegh, Nabeel Abdulrahman Ajour, and Ahmed Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives. The meeting discussed a number of issues aimed at supporting commercial activity and developing the market.
Board member of the Bahrain Chamber, Dr. Waheeb Al Khaja, affirmed that the rapid developments in the labour market underscore the importance of strengthening integration between education, practical training, and the needs of various economic sectors. He noted that the current stage requires greater focus on developing practical skills and hands-on experience that enable students and graduates to integrate more quickly into the workplace.
The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced that it is proceeding with the formation of a new sectoral committee dedicated to the old markets sector under the name “Old Markets Committee,” as part of its efforts to strengthen sectoral representation and develop communication channels with various economic activities. The Chamber called on business owners, traders, and those working in old markets to register and run for membership of the committee.
Board Member of the Bahrain Chamber, Shaker Al Hali, affirmed that the retail sector is undergoing rapid changes in consumer behavior and purchasing patterns, requiring businesses to modernize their management and operational practices and improve service efficiency to keep pace with market developments and maintain their competitiveness.
The Bahrain Chamberorganized an awareness workshop on the “Musanada” Programme, launched by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) to support enterprises affected by the current exceptional circumstances. The workshop was attended by Chamber members and representatives of private sector enterprises.
