With the purpose of encouraging liaison and exchanging expertise between Bahrain and Belgium, the Bahrain Chamber held on Thursday 26th October, 2023 at its headquarters a networking event that hosted 10 Belgian companies from Fintech and ICT.
Chairman of the Union of Arab Chambers, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber Sameer Nass, emphasized the importance of including the concept of food security in security strategies of Arab countries. He called for intensified joint Arab efforts to develop a comprehensive strategy for food security under the umbrella of the Arab League, with the goal of creating a food basket that enjoys agricultural abundance, water resources, and efficient logistical procedures for the speedy transportation of food among brotherly countries. This came at a speech he delivered during the Arab Food Security Conference and Exhibition themed "Food Industries and Their Role in Achieving Food Security," being held in Marrakech under the auspices of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
Amidst a wide turnout of Bahraini and Thai businesses specialized in the Food and Beverages sector, the Bahrain Chamber in cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy and Thai Trade Center, held on Wednesday 20th September 2023 a business matching event, which included a display of Thai F&B products.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Bedaiwi, attended the 62 Board meeting of the Federation of GCC Chambers held in Manama on Sunday 10th September 2023, chaired by Hassan bin Muajab Al-Huwizi, President of the Federation of GCC Chambers and President of Saudi Chambers of Commerce in the presence of chairmen of GCC chambers and federations of chambers.
Bahrain is due to host the 62nd board meeting of the Federation of GCC Chambers and the 134th board meeting of the Union of Arab Chambers, schedules to take place on Sunday and Monday 10th to 11 September in Manama amidst wide participation of prominent business figures and officials including Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi.
