Fakhro congratulated Kanoo and the Board members on their election, commending the strong participation in the electoral process, which reflected the business community’s awareness and commitment to contributing to the future of the commercial and industrial sectors.
He highlighted the strong partnership between the Ministry and Bahrain Chamber as the representative of the private sector, stressing the importance of closer coordination to address economic developments and strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy.
The Minister emphasized the need for joint efforts to develop initiatives and policies that support business growth, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises, by fostering an attractive business environment, strengthening partnerships and creating new investment and expansion opportunities.
The meeting also reviewed the role and mechanisms of the Joint Economic Committee between the Ministry and the Chamber as a platform for constructive dialogue, addressing private-sector challenges and developing appropriate solutions to support sustainable economic growth.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued coordination and cooperation, noting that a strong public-private partnership is essential to improving the business environment, enhancing investment efficiency and strengthening the economy’s ability to adapt to regional and global developments.
For his part, Kanoo said the next phase should focus on expanding the private sector’s role as a key driver of future investment, contributing to economic growth and creating greater opportunities for citizens. He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to working collectively to protect the interests of the private sector and strengthen its contribution to sustainable economic development.
He added that Bahrain Chamber will work closely with the Ministry and other relevant stakeholders to develop a competitive and attractive business environment, facilitate investment and strengthen Bahrain’s position as a regional economic hub. He noted that the Chamber will build on previous achievements while developing initiatives and programmes that respond to the evolving needs of the business community.
Kanoo further emphasized the importance of public-private sector cooperation in advancing sustainable economic development and creating broader growth opportunities in line with the objectives of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
He concluded by affirming that the new Board will continue to represent the voice of the private sector and support businesses of all sizes, particularly SMEs, while strengthening partnerships with economic stakeholders and developing initiatives that enable the private sector to adapt to rapid changes in the global business environment.
