HE the President was received by Sameer bin Abdulla Nass, BCCI Chairman, members of the Chamber, and officials.

During the visit, discussions focused on enhancing economic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Cyprus and strengthening cooperation through a sustainable economic framework with a forward-looking vision.  Priority sectors included trade and investment, aimed at boosting economic integration and opening new partnership opportunities for the business communities of both countries.

The talks emphasised opportunities to expand trade, increase reciprocal investments, exchange expertise in strategic value-added sectors, and coordinate economic efforts, taking advantage of Bahrain’s attractive investment climate, competitive incentives, and supportive environment to establish long-term strategic partnerships.

Both sides noted the importance of broadening economic cooperation and creating high-value investment opportunities for the private sectors, reflecting the depth of Bahraini-Cypriot relations and their shared commitment to advancing growth and prosperity.

On the sidelines of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between BCCI and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, signed by Sameer bin Abdullah Nass for Bahrain and Stavros Stavrou for Cyprus.  The agreement aims to strengthen economic partnerships, promote investment, exchange expertise, and provide a joint framework to encourage trade activity, sustainable investments, and economic growth.

Additionally, the Bahrain-Cyprus Business Forum was held, highlighting growing economic momentum between the two countries.  The forum explored mechanisms to advance trade, aligned with both nations’ economic strategies, and showcased high-value investment opportunities to support economic growth and shared development goals.

HE the President expressed his pride in the strong and developing relations between Bahrain and Cyprus and underscored his country’s commitment to expanding cooperation, particularly in economic and industrial sectors, for mutual benefit and sustainable development.  He commended the BCCI’s regional and international role in promoting Bahrain as an attractive business and investment hub and emphasised the strategic advantages, supportive legal framework, and safe business environment that enhance investor confidence.

HE the President noted the untapped economic potential of both countries, given their strategic locations, economic dynamism, and role as gateways connecting regional and international markets, offering wide opportunities for enhanced economic and trade cooperation.  He highlighted Cyprus as a stable European investment platform providing full access to the EU single market and the eurozone, with modern regulatory systems, competitive taxation, and advanced administrative and digital reforms to support investor confidence and sustainable growth.

HE the President also underscored the significance of the visit, coinciding with Cyprus assuming the EU Council Presidency, emphasising its focus on strengthening EU-Gulf relations and identifying Bahrain as a key strategic partner in this effort.
