He explained that the Kingdom of Bahrain, with its distinguished geographical location and ambitious vision, seeks to be a re-export platform, efficiently re-packaging and distributing goods due to its integrated logistics services. He noted that the increasing cooperation between Bahraini and Russian companies in manufacturing, joint projects, and technology transfer enhances diversity in economic sectors, contributing to the development of a competitive manufacturing sector in the Kingdom.
Nass pointed out that the Bahrain Chamber continues its efforts to strengthen economic relations with various countries to achieve sustainable development and enhance Bahrain's position as a commercial and investment center in the region. He stressed that the Chamber is continuously working to develop economic partnerships with friendly countries to attract investments and enhance the Kingdom's competitiveness in global markets, making it a primary destination for global investments in various fields, including manufacturing technology and logistics services, in line with its future vision focused on economic diversification and innovation.
For his part, First Vice Chairman of the Chamber and head of the Bahraini side of the Bahrain-Russia Business Council, Khalid Najibi stated that the participation of the Chamber's delegation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum aims primarily to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the private sectors of Bahrain and Russia, in addition to highlighting the investment climate in Bahrain. He added that the Chamber aims to promote the Bahraini economy in general, focusing on private sector projects that contribute to enhancing the Kingdom's economic diversity. He also addressed the importance of leveraging this international event to explore available investment opportunities in Russia and discuss ways to establish strategic alliances between Bahraini and Russian businessmen to develop joint projects.
Najibi clarified that the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is an important platform for fruitful meetings between the Chamber and various businessmen from around the world, considering the forum a leading global platform that gathers a select group of economic decision-makers, heads of major companies, and representatives from various commercial sectors from multiple countries, facilitating the exchange of experiences and discussion of new business opportunities.
In turn, member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a member of the Chamber’s Executive Office, Ahmed Al-Saloom, a affirmed that the forum is a prominent economic event whose significance stems from the current context of the global economy, due to the diversity of participation and the integrated program of activities. He added that the forum's importance lies in its discussion of issues related to emerging markets in particular, alongside addressing global economic topics that impact the macro economy. Furthermore, the forum plays a significant role in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises by highlighting available opportunities for these companies in foreign markets and enhancing cooperation between business communities and international investors.
Al-Saloom noted that the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, places great emphasis on developing the small and medium-sized enterprise sector as a key pillar of economic growth. He pointed out that these enterprises constitute the largest proportion of the commercial structure in Bahrain and are a fundamental pillar in efforts for economic diversification. He highlighted that the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry continues its ongoing support for this sector by providing facilities and opportunities that contribute to enhancing the growth of these enterprises and increasing their competitiveness, thereby bolstering Bahrain's status as a leading economic center in the region.
