Chamber Plans New Guide for Entrepreneurs

The Executive Office of the Bahrain Chamber held its seventh meeting of the 31st term on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, chaired by the Bahrain Chamber's Chairman Nabeel Khalid Kanoo and attended by all Executive Office members. The meeting discussed economic issues affecting the private sector and adopted decisions to strengthen the Chamber’s representation of the business community, improve member services and expand cooperation with government entities and relevant institutions.

To strengthen public-private sector cooperation, the Executive Office directed the activation of the Chamber’s joint committees with government entities to improve coordination on economic and commercial issues. It also decided to recommend that the Board of Directors establish a joint committee with the Bahrain Association of Banks to expand cooperation with the banking sector.

In support of entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises, the Executive Office approved an Entrepreneurs’ Guide to Establishing Commercial Enterprises. The guide will help entrepreneurs and investors understand business establishment procedures. The Office also reviewed updates from the Chamber’s SMEs Support Department.

On digital transformation, the Executive Office reviewed progress on the Chamber’s website development and stressed the need to update members’ information, promote available e-services and encourage their use. It also directed that the website include a calendar of events hosted in Bahrain and organised by government and civil society entities, helping members identify relevant opportunities and activities.

To develop the Chamber’s institutional work and draw on economic and commercial expertise, the Executive Office reviewed the first meeting’s outcomes of the Chamber’s Consultative Council. It directed the preparation of a framework for the Council’s work in accordance with the Chamber Law and its Executive Regulations. The Office also decided to recommend that the Board of Directors approve regulations for joint business councils to organise their work and improve their effectiveness.

The Executive Office also stressed the importance of continuing field visits to markets, shopping centres and craft workshops to better understand traders’ and business owners’ needs and views. These visits also support ongoing engagement with members across sectors and business locations.

These decisions support the Chamber’s efforts to address issues affecting the business community, improve its services and initiatives, and expand partnerships in support of the private sector and Bahrain’s commercial and economic activity.
