Bahrain Chamber to enhance cooperation with Canadian-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group

First Deputy Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Khaled Najibi emphasized Bahrain's commitment to enhancing cooperation, friendship, and partnership with Canada in various vital sectors. He commended the bilateral relations between Bahrain and Canada and the level of cooperation between the two sides, highlighting the role of the Canadian-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group in strengthening relations to meet shared aspirations.

This came during his meeting with the President of the Canadian-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group Senator Salma Ataullahjan and the accompanying delegation held at the Chamber’s premises on Thursday 7th March 2024, in the presence of the Chamber’s Executive Committee member Ahmed Al-Saloom, board member Youssef Salahuddin.

 

Najibi reviewed the Chamber's role in the national economic landscape, most notably in representing the private sector, advocating its interests, and partnering with the government in shaping economic legislation.  Najibi also spoke about Bahrain’s experience in overcoming the economic repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic, expressing pride in the prompt actions taken by the leadership, and the successful implementation of an economic recovery plan, which was shaped by the government and the private sector.

 

For her part, Senator praised the far-sighted vision of the leadership of Bahrain, commending the notable fast-paced development, and growth witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain. She emphasized the need to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences between Bahrain and Canada, especially in the food security dossier, and agri-tech.
