Al-Mousawi explained that APM Terminals Bahrain has boosted its operational capacity during daytime hours, significantly improving container delivery processes during peak times. It is expected that this move will reduce waiting times and lower the financial burdens faced by importers regarding storage fees upon receiving their goods.
He also urged truck drivers to fully adhere to reservation times via the electronic system "TAS," ensuring that everyone benefits from the available operational capacity.
Mr. Al-Mousawi noted that the Transportation and Logistics Committee at the Bahrain Chamber has played a pivotal and coordinating role in this matter, having held several meetings with APM Terminals Bahrain to convey urgent market needs and formally request an increase in reservations. These efforts resulted in a positive response from the company, which organized a special event for transportation company owners and shipping agents to address key challenges related to container reservations, facilitating collaboration among all stakeholders.
He reiterated the committee's priorities, which include supporting importers, exporters, and heavy transportation companies, enhancing supply chain flexibility, expediting the delivery of imported containers, and alleviating pressure on import, export, and logistical operations.
