Bahrain Chamber receives Eastern Province Business Youth Council

Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sameer Abdullah Nass, received on Wednesday 2nd July 2025 at the Chamber's headquarters, a delegation from the Young Businessmen Council of the Eastern Province Chamber (Saudi Arabia), as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation among GCC chambers and promote the exchange of expertise.

Speaking at the event, Nass emphasized the deep fraternal and strong economic relations that bind the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He praised the Eastern Province Business Youth Council’s pioneering role in nurturing youth potential and encouraging innovation and initiative.


He added that the Chamber views entrepreneurship as a key component of the private sector, and there is strong encouragement for youth to establish ambitious projects and increase the volume of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).


Nass also discussed the development of the Chamber’s sectoral committees, highlighting a qualitative leap in their institutional performance, especially with the adoption of a performance measurement unit that relies on specific indicators to evaluate achievement and impact across various sectors.


He stressed the importance of enhancing communication with Chamber members, noting that the Chamber uses various communication channels to convey feedback and perspectives to official authorities, as well as to broadcast informative and procedural messages to the business community.


Chief Communications Officer at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ebrahim Al-Tamimi presented Bahrain’s economic ecosystem, which includes governmental and regulatory entities such as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Economic Development Board, the Bahrain Chamber, the Investors’ Center, and the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, which work to streamline business establishment and policy development. The support and financing ecosystem includes institutions like Tamkeen, Bahrain Development Bank, Tenmou, and Hope Fund, in addition to incubators and accelerators. "Export Bahrain" also plays a role in supporting the international expansion of national products and services.


Al-Tamimi also reviewed a range of services the Chamber offers to support the commercial and industrial sectors, as part of its ongoing efforts to boost economic activity and enhance Bahrain’s investment environment.


For his part, Chairman of the Eastern Province Business Youth Council, Abdulrahman Al-Afaleq, stated that the delegation's visit aims to gain insights into Bahrain's investment climate and the opportunities available to entrepreneurs in collaboration with their Bahraini counterparts, thereby enhancing economic partnership between the two countries.


He added that the Eastern Province Business Youth Council consists of 50 members and aims to encourage young men and women to engage in entrepreneurship, promote their ideas, highlight successful youth experiences for inspiration, and support the expansion and development of entrepreneurial ventures through participating in related events.


Lastly, Business Development Director at Tamkeen, Ahmed Al-Sharaf, gave a presentation outlining the key services Tamkeen offers to the business sector in Bahrain. He highlighted Tamkeen’s range of funding, training, and advisory programs designed to enable entrepreneurs to achieve growth and sustainability, reaffirming Tamkeen’s role as a developmental partner supporting every phase of the business cycle.


The Saudi delegation also made a visit to the business incubators operated by the Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Development Society, where they learned about the Society’s experience in supporting startups, mechanisms for aiding entrepreneurs across various sectors, and the supportive and motivating environment it provides for innovative ideas to flourish.
