Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber Sameer Nass welcomed the business delegation headed by the Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia on Strategic Development Issues Alexander Ye. Chepik, and exhibited business opportunities in Bahrain in the health, tourism, food sector. He spoke about existing business relations between Bahrain and Russia and highlighted the efforts of the Bahraini-Russian Joint Business Council in liaising business owners and exploring new opportunities. Mr Nass also touched upon challenges curbing trade between Bahrain and Russia, key among which logistical challenges and specifications’ discrepancies.
For his part, Mr Alexander Ye. Chepik expressed the keenness of the Russian business community in enhancing trade and investment with Bahrain. He spoke about investment opportunities in fish farming, and trade opportunities in wood and building materials.
Also present at the meeting was the Chamber’s Treasurer Waleed Kanoo, Board Member Yaqoob Al Awadhi, CEO Dr. Abdulla Al Sada, and Russia’s Ambassador to Bahrain H.E Alexey Skosyrev, alongside members of the Russian delegation.
