Kanoo stated that the relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are rooted in deep fraternal and historical ties that have evolved into a comprehensive strategic partnership, under the gracious patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These strong ties have contributed to advancing economic and investment cooperation to new levels that serve the shared interests of both countries and their peoples.
Kanoo commended the rapid economic and developmental transformations taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the ambitious vision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. These efforts have resulted in strategic projects and economic diversification programmes that have enhanced the attractiveness of the investment environment and opened new avenues for partnerships and investment, including opportunities available to the Bahraini private sector.
He affirmed that the Bahrain Chamber is keen to further strengthen cooperation with chambers, economic entities and the business community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while connecting business owners and investors with promising opportunities. This supports the establishment of value-added joint ventures across the industrial, commercial, logistics, investment and technology sectors, while further strengthening economic integration between the two countries.
He noted that trade indicators reflect the strength of these relations, with non-oil trade between the two countries growing by 1% in 2025 to approximately US$3.93 billion, compared to approximately US$3.88 billion in 2024.
According to data from the Information & eGovernment Authority, Bahrain’s exports to Saudi Arabia amounted to approximately US$3.03 billion in 2025, while imports stood at approximately US$905.2 million. This resulted in a trade surplus in Bahrain’s favour of more than US$2.12 billion. Kanoo affirmed that these figures reflect the depth of economic interconnectedness between the two countries and provide a strong foundation for further partnerships between their respective private sectors.
On this occasion, Kanoo extended his highest congratulations and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the brotherly Saudi people, wishing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued progress and prosperity, and the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries further development and growth.
