Speaking during the 52nd Session of the Arab Labour Conference, where he represented the Bahrain Chamber, Al Salloom expressed appreciation to the Arab Republic of Egypt for its hospitality and organisation, commending its longstanding role in advancing joint Arab action and development.
Al Saloom stressed the need for greater Arab coordination to support trade, energy and supply-chain stability, safeguard employment, and strengthen the private sector’s ability to grow and adapt to changing conditions. He also highlighted Bahrain’s progress in strengthening its economic resilience and fostering a business environment that supports investment and private-sector growth.
He emphasised the importance of genuine partnership among governments, employers, and workers in developing balanced and sustainable solutions, supported by effective dialogue, fair labour legislation, and an enabling business environment.
Al Saloom also highlighted the importance of investing in human capital and developing workforce skills in line with the digital economy and artificial intelligence, while promoting entrepreneurship, facilitating access to finance for SMEs, and strengthening occupational health and safety standards.
He expressed the Bahrain Chamber’s hope that the Conference will produce practical and actionable recommendations that strengthen Arab economic cooperation, transform challenges into opportunities, and support a more sustainable future for the Arab economy.
